Francis M Clothing Co
Francis M shirts are the latest “in” thing to wear these days. If you’re a fan, you probably already have one.
I didn’t have an idea that his signature shirts were huge these past few days until the brothers started raving about it this morning. As early as 10, we drove off to find Three Stars and A Sun, Francis Magalona’s shirt shop, in Broadway, Quezon City.

Overflowing with people
We found his shirt shop inside Broadway complex. It was small and already cramped with people lining up the counter placing their orders. Some people said it was Francis Magalona who designed those shirts, mostly with nationalistic themes in it. (No wonder the shop is called “Three Stars and A Sun”.) One of the store’s staff mentioned that huge number of people have been buying Francis M’s shirts since the news of his death spread like wildfire. Partly because people would want to wear them on their way to his funeral. And some for posterity’s sake.
The brothers bought black shirts with gold logo stamp. I chose the green one for a change. We bought them at P550 each. While I was at the mall for lunch, some people asked where I got those shirts. Hmm…even grandmothers are hooked to wearing his shirts these days.
Starting tomorrow, Francis M Clothing Co. will release his last shirt design. There will few design pieces for women too. Ladies, if you want a honeymoon lingerie, find it elsewhere.
I was on my way home when we passed by Christ The King church in Greenmeadows and got caught up in a small traffic. There were buses from the two giant TV networks, OB vans and commuter jeepneys parked in both sides of the road. Christ The King church was literally overflowing with people. I knew right there and then that Francis Magalona’s funeral was being held there.
True enough. My brother confirmed the same thing and even broke the news that a concert in his tribute was also being staged that same night somewhere in SM Mall of Asia.
You wouldn’t even believe that the article I posted about Francis M received close to a hundred hits yesterday. And his last blog post dated January 14 at his multiply site received more than 2,000 comments already. He wrote about his 4th chemotherapy at The Medical City.
Good evening people. I am getting prepared for my 4th Chemotherapy cycle, and I will be admitted tonight at The Medical City. I will be doing some tests tomorrow, wish me luck. Friday I begin my 4th cycle which is a Hi-Dose kind, as will be taking 6 grams of Cytarabinâ„¢ a day every other day for 3 days.
I will be at the 14th floor of the TMC, as usual. I brought alot reading materials (bible included!) and dvds to keep me company while I do my treatment. I will be doing my radiation treatment by February and my PBSCT (Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Transplant) will be done by March.
I look forward to the pain as I know my journey is on full speed ahead. I will not be bold to say that without asking a favor from you all. PLEASE PRAY for me as I undergo treatment. Your prayers, as always, have sustained me. And am sure the Lord will listen to all our prayers. To His will I submit myself.
God bless you, my friend.
PS: I will be needing blood donors for blood and platelets. Please go to the lower ground floor of The Medical City and donate blood in my name. For platelets Apheresis you may go have yourself screened at the Phil. Nat’l Red Cross at the Pier in Manila. I am type O positive. Thank you again.
If you wish to drop by Francis Magalona’s wake in Greenmeadows, Quezon City just take the C-5 road in Libis and turn right. From Robinsons Galleria/Edsa, turn right to the People Power monument. You wouldn’t miss Christ the King Church. It is surrounded by beautiful houses similar to those you see at Wilmington NC real estate. Minus the sea of course.
