Reading about US federal prescription drug program called medicare part d makes me wish that we have the same thing going on here in the Philippines. There are hospital insurance benefits available but most of them are limited to hospitalization bills. People are left to attending to skyrocketting costs of prescription drugs. Sometimes it is not disease that kills people. It’s anxiety.

This US drug program would cover branded and generic prescription drugs and assist people with very high drug costs. Americans eligible for Medicare can apply regardless of income, health status and prescription expenses. State agencies can also extend help to people who do not have fixed income resources.
