Somehow, I managed to salvage a copy of movies about to be released from May to December. The list was teeming with this year’s most anticipated titles – from The Iron Man, The Dark Knight, Narnia 2: Prince Caspian to X-Men: The Origin. These titles all came from the books we’ve always loved and cherished through the years. You can imagine the excitement brewing among fanatics. Expectations are running high and the pressure on movie outfits to meet them is great. Let’s see. In the meantime, reserve seats in advance this year to avoid unnecessary long lines.
The Iron Man is the first super hero to draw blood this year. It would be best to watch it on a recliner or any theater seating that would offer maximum comfort. Showing in Philippine theatres on April 30.
Sooner or later, I will start doing an inventory of all comfort rooms in restaurants and malls and write about it online. Kleng-Kleng gave me an idea when she mentioned about listing down comfort rooms that have paper towels and/or tissue rolls. I might just add a little more to it like presence of a hand-dryer, American Standard toilet seats and sinks, Kohler faucets, lotion, cologne and how much their admin offices charge customers for the promised comfort.
Funny thing is I can’t remember reading about people in civilized cities abroad getting charged for all of these little comforts. Does this extra charging have to do with Filipinos’ tendency to abuse someone else’s hospitality?
Last night’s boot out was a bit of a shocker. I was expecting Carly Smithson to sail through the top 3 but the stars favored Jason Castro. Castro has sort of duplicated Kristy Lee Cook’s lucky charm, prevailing on every near boot out experience. The only difference is Castro knows how to mesmerize his crowd while Kristy, although talented, remained indifferent. Now she’s back to her ranch fixing saddles and tending to her horses.
Next week, Castro will share the bottom two with Syeisha. My wild calculated guess. Brooke White will save her seat on the top 3. My gut feeling also tells me that the amazing David Cook will take home this year’s Idol crown. But David Archuleta has a very long way to go. He’ll get even better. That baby was born a superstar.
