Filipinos around the world now have two reasons to unite and stay glued to this season’s battle for American Idol crown. Two very talented Filipino-Americans made it to the Top 24 of American Idol Season 7 — Ramiele Malubay and David Archuleta. It is during these rare occasions that the Philippines is back on the map again for extremely good reasons. After all, no matter how entertaining it is to watch those liars from Malacanang grilled on live TV, we all deserve that break from following the senate’s hearing on the alleged government’s conspiracy in abducting star-witness Jun Lozada.
