I arrived at Heathrow four hours earlier for my 2PM departure for Dubai via Emirates. Going around the airport had never been this fun knowing that I will soon be home in 20 hours. I had never felt this free.
It’s almost half past 11AM. Two and a half hours more to go.
BAA Heathrow, also known as London Heathrow Airport, is one of the busiest airports in the world in terms of passenger traffic. It has four terminals — two serves the United Kingdom’s official carrier, the British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic, one for cargoes and terminal 4 for international arrivals and departures. Terminal 5 is ongoing construction scheduled to open in March 2008.
Here’s the elite shopping hallway that would take you to world famous brands.
The airport is located west of Central London. It can be accessed from different routes through London underground trains and buses, coaches, cars or taxis via M25 route along the motorway. In fact, you can see airplanes flying above the motorway at the rate of one per minute.
Overcast skies that make up the glum British climate.
What is PAL doing at the tarmac?
Inside London Heathrow are shops and more shops. It’s an airport mall, a haven for traveling shopaholics and tired hungry passengers arriving from their destinations or simply waiting for their flights. You can find shops like London’s Harrods, Gucci, Chanel and YSL inside. For budget finds, go to Boots for beauty & health products or WHSmith for books. Several varieties of food from Chinese to Italian are being served in different restaurants across the terminal. Ponti’s is one of the popular choices.
